Overcoming extreme wear challenges! XYMJ manufactures high-performance tungsten carbide throttle needles.
January 2026. Addressing the rapid wear and short service life of throttle valve core components in the oil & gas, chemical and mining sectors, XYMJ has designed and manufactured high-performance tungsten carbide throttle needles. With an exceptionally long service life and stable precision, these products deliver reliable solutions for extreme operating conditions, helping customers to significantly reduce their overall operational costs.
Core advantages: Significant improvements in service life and precision
Traditional alloy valve needles wear out very quickly due to erosion from high-pressure fluids containing particles. This leads to frequent shutdowns and loss of precision. In contrast, the new valve needle uses a monolithic sub-micron grain tungsten carbide material with a hardness (HRA) of over 92.5. This delivers tens to hundreds of times greater wear resistance than conventional materials. Field tests in applications such as shale gas fracturing demonstrate that it can operate trouble-free for over 60 times longer than traditional needles.
Technical innovations:
Material Breakthrough: Optimised bonding phase and grain structure achieve ultra-high hardness and impact resistance. Precision manufacturing: Micron-level machining with diamond tools ensures precise and consistent flow regulation curves.- Reliable design: Multiple configurations — monolithic and welded — meet the diverse demands of ultra-high-pressure throttling and frequent adjustments.
Core value for customers:
- Extended maintenance intervals: Transition from frequent replacements to long-term operation to significantly reduce unplanned downtime.
- Process stability assurance: Near-wear-free characteristics ensure sustained control accuracy, enhancing product quality and safety.
Reduced total cost of ownership: Substantial savings on spare parts, maintenance and production losses due to downtime.
Application fields
This product is ideal for demanding applications, including high-pressure drilling, throttling and fracturing operations; coal chemical black water systems; slurry conveyance; and ultra-high-pressure water jetting.
XYMJ is a leader in the engineering of high-end tungsten carbide hard alloy components and is dedicated to solving its customers’ most severe operational challenges through material and engineering innovation.
